4 weeks down!!!

Love the short week! Friday can never come too soon! This week we helped Emery's best buddy Matty celebrate his 3rd birthday at Pump it Up (a kid friendly indoor play place that has all the inflatable slides & bounceis you can imagine). The kids loved it, wore themselves out and I enjoyed their naps that day! Emmy had a Dr. appt for her preschool physical (she was actually looking forward to her appt becuase she knew it somehow had somethign to do with going to preschool....and she just can't wait). Macy is on the upswing from having something called "Fifth's Disease" one of the many common childhood illnesses....she was unaffected as far as how she felt, but had bright red, hot cheeks all week and then broke out with a crazy rash all over her arms and legs....she asked me why when she wakes up each day she keeps turning red....I told her she was like "Pinkalicious!" We did a lot of baking this week...making a homemade pizza with some great dough and sauce that my neighbor Ann dropped by after she was down in Little Italy...the girls also made a batch of chocolate chip cookies (which Morty ended up enjoying more than anyone). He ate an entire plastic bag of about 20 cookies while I was upstairs putting the kids down for the night...he's not even phased merely a few pounds heavier. We plan to finish off the week with another concert in the park down in Coronado. I should be able to talk to Mike here in a day or so once he's in port...can't wait!!!

One step closer to preschool...

A few shells don't matter....as long as you're having fun!

This is fun pizza powder!

Emmy being ever so careful with the sauce.

I just stuck around for the pizza dough...

I had a fun outing with Emery and Coop on Friday while Macy was at preschool. She went home with her friend Sarah for lunch and play date so we had more time than usual....we went over to Carlsbad to pick fresh strawberries. It was a beautiful day and the strawberry fields were over flowing with great looking berries. Emmy had so much fun walking up and down each row looking for just the right strawberries. At first she would pick anything she saw....green, pink, it didn't matter. Once I showed her what to look for she quickly caught on. I did catch her throwing a couple of "no good berries!" She couldn't wait to eat them for snack after nap. Coop was hilarious....he kept tripping so got pretty dirty, but had so much fun eating the strawberries right off the bush....probably not allowed, but it was too funny to stop.

Is this red enough???!!!
Hi Ems!!! Our bucket's almost full...

Why picke 'em when you can eat 'em right off the bush?!?!Lunch at Ruby's Diner!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyone had a happy Memorial Day and long weekend! We had an action packed weekend of fun! We started off with a day of fun for Mommy with Keita and Dee Dee...breakfast, a chic flick and a pedicure! Then I took the kids over to Michael & Marla's (they're great at Operation Shannon Outreach) for some homemade mexican food and margaritas...the best part of the night was when the girls put on a ballet show for us....telling us when to clap and when they were taking their intermissions! On Sunday we did a few errands and then took the kids down to Concert in the Park on Coronado with a bunch of friends. The kids all had a blast.....and can't wait until next Sunday (I know this is one of Mike's favorite summer activities and it's hard for him to miss....but we'll keep the tradition going...for his sake :) On Memorial day we went down to Coronado again...renting those funny looking quad bikes and pedaled all around the island....stopped for lunch, popped in a few shops and then took the kids for ice cream...definitely a full day!!! Mike celebrated the holiday weekend with a "Steel Beach"....a psuedo beach set up on the deck of the ship...BBQ'ing and relaxing with friends....unfortunately last I heard from him he has come down with a pretty bad "funk" that is going around the ship like wild fire.....I can only imagine how tough it must be to be sick when you're in that type of environment...not the easiest place to recover....so I hope the next I hear is he is on the mend.

Lunch at Tent City on Coronado

This was our ride.....we did quite a bit of stopping and adjusting along the way to make sure everyone was happy.....

This week we tried out the New Children's Museum in downtown San Diego. The girls had a great time, it was very hands on as you can see from the photos (painting a beetle bug car, molding with clay, bubbles, and lots more)...it was a little bit challenging with Cooper (he wanted to do all the activities, but instead ate the clay etc....you get the gist). We did find one area geared more towards his age with a rainforest of puffy rocks and trees he could tumble through. Cooper in the rainforest! Busy at work....
Hmmmmm.....what to make........ These are going to be some seriously BIG bubbles!
Zen painting......with water....mommy's favorite!

Sunshiney Days!

Sunday at Moonlight Park in EncinitasWe had some beautiful weather this week so spent a lot of time outside. The girls have been bike riding and drawing with their sidewalk chalk in the evenings and we are settling into Daddy being gone....although the girls continue to ask when's Daddy coming home???

Coop doing Daddy's job "Mommy & Honey" admiring "Baby"Look at all my teeeeeeth!!!!Such sweet sisters... We spent all day Thursday at Del Mar beach....Macy and Cooper loved splashing in the water, but Emmy definitely preferred watching the waves from afar. Now that Cooper is walking he wants to do everything he sees his big sisters doing.

Macy spent more than half the day splashing away....she was so much fun to watch. Genuine happiness splashed across her face the entire day. Although, I think the hightlight of her day was that I let her miss naps....big deal for Macy & Mom!

Ems loved filling up the buckets......the best shot of the day is below where she laid her bucket out and just watched and waited for the waves to come and fill it up!
