Catching up!!!!

I'm just playing a little bit of catch up.....here are some pictures from last week and of the girls on their way to their first day of summer camp today (Emmy's first real taste of preschol). The girls are going 3 mornings a week for 5 weeks and then to a week of vacation bible school beginning of August. Macy and Emery both loved their teachers and got to meet up with each other out on the playground. Hard to believe I now have 2 preschoolers, but Emmy is definitely ready and I am looking forward to my days with Coop!!!
Just missing one Daddy.... The girls call these skirts their "Concert Skirts" because they're good for twirling!Coop loves the concert just as much as his Big Sisters!Ring Pops were a treat and a big hit!Future Papparazzi!!!
Macy picked up DeeDee's camera and starting taking pictures of the babies she saw crawling around near us...."this is a cute one" "look at this adorable baby"!!!
Maybe this will be her new hobby!Coop and his cone :)
FLUBBER!!!
We made flubber one afternoon after naps (made out of Glue, Borax, Warm Water, adn Liquid Color) the girls have been having a blast playing with it in the sensory table....cutting, stretching, and molding it into different shapes.

Of course Emmy made her flubber yellow! She was not at all interested in getting her hands dirty at first, but eventually she had fun with it and couldn't put it down!
Playing "Bike Shop"...they love to fix their bikes with Daddy's tools!
Ems just hangin on the couch with her breakfast! The girls have been busy painting cardboard boxes to make a fort....it's a long process (or a big box....depending on how you look at it)....we do a little painting every couple of days.Emmy was happy to share her "canvas" with Cooper!Cooper got right in on the action.....luckily I used washable tempera paint....he was a mess!!!!

Weeee....look at me!!!!! On our way up to baths!
The girls first day of summer camp (at the preschool they're going to in the fall).

Coop finally gets Mom to himself. We walked Miramar Lake and then got a cookie adn played at the train table at Barnes & Noble.

It was so much fun and soooooooo easy to have just Cooper for the morning....some quality time I think we both deserve and need!

8 weeks down!

Hope everyone has a HAPPY 4Th of July!!!!

Jenn's Visit!!!!

What a fun week we had! Jenn and her girls Ella (3 yrs) and Audrey (19 months) flew out to see us from Jacksonville Beach, Fl for a whole week! We packed so much into 7 days and still didn't get enough! The girls all got along so well and played so nicely together. I've never seen two little travelers do so well! They were never jet lagged, they slept great (all three in one room), and were just such great company to have. Audrey is the most amazing little 19 month old.....chatty as can be! She told me how she likes pepperoni on her pizza, she always says please and thank you and excuse me, she sing songs, and really communicates like a 4 year old! She obviously didn't have any trouble holding her own with the big kids! Ella is so sweet and was such a fun playmate for the girls.....the games and dress up and make believe they engaged in all week gave Jenn and I some real time to catch up and enjoy one another. Jenn and I were able to get away on our own without the kids on Sunday (we went to breakfast and walked Mission Bay). We also celebrated our birthdays a little early together with drinks and appetizers at Pacifica in Del Mar. Our babysitter Miss Jessica was a trooper to even agree to watch all 5.....on more than one occassion no less!!!! Here are some pictures of our fun times together!

The ride home from the airport....
Have you ever seen so mnay bows in one car?!?!?!
Poor Coop was definitely out numbered!!!How do you get 5 kids to the park????

3 bikes.........and a double stroller!Ella & Macy seeking some shade in the sand.We stopped off in Little Italy on the way home from picking "The Girls" up at the airport for some homemade pizza dough and sauce at Momma Mia's.....
I'm becoming a pro at tossing the dough!Jenn & Audrey saucing it up!Emmy adding the cheese.....Ella & Macy having fun with their dough.........and we made cookies
(although you shouldn't be able to taste the salt or vanilla......
maybe one too many chefs in the kitchen on this batch)!!! Jenn did books a lot of the nights to help give me a break....the girls loved reading altogether.
Breakfast on the porch. We went to Legoland!!!Emmy in her Yellow Car at Legoland. You had to be 3 to drive and we made a little stretch on her age so she could take the wheel.....but Macy was quick and very vocal about Emmy NOT being 3 yet! Well, maybe you have to be 3 for a reason....Emmy sat in the car the entire time and didn't move an inch! Maybe she's not quite ready for "driving school"!Jenn & Ella riding in the helicopter! The girls playing in the sprinklers before lunch!...and our day at Legoland ended with Ella getting stung by a bee! She was so brave at the first aid station while they used a driver's license (very high tech) to scrape out the stinger.....Jenn said, "Give me the tweezers I can get it!" You can see Ella had the moral support of all her buddies! We did the beach....
We got as sandy as we possibly could.....
We had fun! Auds & Ells
(Truly two of the cutest, sweetest, most polite little girls I've ever met! What fun they were to have stay with us....I only wish they lived down the street!)
Of course we went to Concert in the Park in Coronado!Emmy loved dancing wiht the streamers!
Ella had a blast with her streamers and is quite the little 'Hula Dancer'!!! This is pretty much what Cooper & Audrey did the entire concert.......EAT!!!!
Can we share???
We did the pool....Macy tried to take her floaties off like Ella (who's a great swimmer), but decided she's just not quite ready. That must be my hint to sign her up for swim lessons! This shot will begin the slide show at their wedding!!!
Jenn getting her baby boy fix!
We had to go to In & Out for burgers and milkshakes!!!

Thanks for a great time!!!! Come back soon!!!! We miss you already!!!!

I'm a little behind....but this was 7 weeks down! (and yes I'm counting)!

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Daddy.....this hug's for you!We miss you!!!!
The week ended better than it started for sure.....we got a surprise phone call from Mike on Father's Day which was so much fun! Both girls got on and were able to wish Mike a Happy Father's Day....I could just hear how much they miss him in their voice.....but we'll take anything we can get!!!! Mike said that they tried to jazz up boat life with a prime rib and lobster dinner in honor of Father's Day...a little overcooked but thoughtful and appreciated just the same.

The week began with a flat tire.....at least we were in the driveway and not stuck out on the highway somewhere.....that's my "glass is half full" for the week! The following day I came down with "something"...fever, chills and just pretty much sick.....luckily it only lasted about 2 days. Fortunately, my neighbor and friend, Ann, watched the kids in the afternoon so I could get some rest... and lots of others offered. I got some relief the next day when I had already scheduled to drop the kids off at the Youth Center on base (to try it out for the first time and see if they even liked it).....while I got my hair done....luckily all went well and mom has plans to take them again! On Thursday we had a great pool date at Marla's pool. The kids have such a blast each time they go, it's truly one of their most favorite days....splashing, swimming, and picnicing with friends! The real highlight of the week was the book on video that Mike had made on the boat for the kids. It has been and continues to be the biggest hit each morning and evening. The girls watch it without taking their eyes off of him. It did bring tears to my eyes the first time they watched it and would respond back to his conversation in the beginning and end of the video as if it was live and Daddy was actually there asking the questions...."Yes Daddy, we still drink warm milks....I just painted you tons of pictures and Mommy mailed them!" It was a very special treat for us all.

The mini....in what I hope is rare form."Saint Marla".....who saved the day and took ALL 5 KIDS to the park while I went and got a new tire (ok, and a pedicure while I waited)!!!!First run of many......Daddy doing books in the evening.I think this was about 5:30am......notice the same jammies but dry hair. "Daddy on TV" was the first thing they asked for in the morning."Dad-D".....Coop immediately pointed and said Daddy.....and sat right down to watch. I guess I shouldn't have walked away and left him to his own devices.....he was clever and managed to completely break off the 'Caps Lock' key......add it to the list. Hey......
Banana Pancakes & bacon for Friday night dinner.....popsicles for dessert!!! What a fun night we had with the Vandling kids and Mom while their Dad was out partying it up at the US Open.....glad I could be there for my girl Marla while her hubs was deployed to the golf course!!!
Wax on. Wax off.
Mommy's little helpers did a great job washing the Passat and getting it ready for Jenny Pops visit on Thursday!!!
These jammies need to say...."I'm NEVER Crabby!!!!"Dancing and twiriling with streamers....such fun!!!This is the greatest toy!Macy was so proud to "start" herself on the swing without any help!!!I can take a moment away from my ice cream for a wink and a smile! They danced their little hearts out tonight!Sacked out......lest's call it a day.

6 Weeks down....
