We're Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!

It's been a few months....an entire summer....and now we're into a new school year! Busy, Busy Busy is what we've been!!! So here is a long overdue update on what we've been up to. I went back East for about a month in July/August (2 weeks in FL and 2 in VA), where we saw tons of family, friends, and did our best to beat the heat! We have been spoiled in SD, and felt a bit of culture shock as my glasses fogged each time I got in and out of the car in FL!!! I flew to FL with the kids on my own (which was just enough to put me waaaaaay over the top), and Mike met us in VA for the last 2 weeks, and was at least able to "experience" the fun of traveling with 3 little ones on the way home. It was so great to catch up with everyone, see our college friends and their kids and how much they've grown, and just spend some good time relaxing and enjoying one another.

Upon our return in the middle of August we quickly got ready for Macy to start Kindergarten. She has a WONDERFUL teacher, Mrs. Ciemiewicz (Sim-o-wits :), who Macy adores and I look forward to working with as Room Mom. I am also deep in the trenches of potty training Cooper....1 down and 2 to go....if ya know what I mean! He is supposed to be fully potty trained before he is allowed to begin preschool.....on Aug 31st!!!!!!! Needless to say.....I am motivated to make it happen!!!

Both Macy and Emery start soccer next week. Mike is Macy's coach this year, while I am Team Mom for both teams (don't think it entails too much....). This will be Emmy's first season and she is so excited. We bought all her cleats, shin guards and stuff last week and she's been playing with it all ever since.

In between the first 2 days of school I got the flu....which I then passed on to Macy, who of course gave it to Emmy, who gave it to Coop, who gave it back to Emmy....so Mike took off on Monday for a week of training (or to seek healthier grounds elsewhere)....can't say that I blame him!

Believe it or not we have been enjoying carving out our new schedule....each year seemingly busier than the last. However, we always have time and look forward to visitors, so if you are ever headed our way....we'd love to see you!!!

Happy Birthday Emery!!!
Emmy's birthday isn't until August, but we wanted to make sure we could have a party with all her friends from preschool before everyone went on summer vacation! She had her favorite little friends from school which made it very special (this was the first year she definitely had an opinion about who she wanted to party with)!!! Our little Emmy LOVES her candy, so we decided on a Candy Land theme birthday, which turned out to be a huge hit! The parents may no longer be speaking to me after I loaded their kids up on sugar and sent them on their way...but it was fun while it lasted!!!
